After helping a friend move through snowy Ottawa with soggy, collapsing cardboard boxes, the founder realized how stressful and wasteful traditional moving could be. That experience sparked the idea for a better solution: reusable, stackable plastic containers designed to protect belongings and reduce waste. Inspired by the needs of students, families, and professionals moving across the city, they sketched out a rental system with easy pickup and drop-off. Ottawa Box Rental was born to make moving simpler, more sustainable, and far less chaotic—one sturdy box at a time.
I was working a full time job after covid wiped out my previous employer. I like the freedom and joy felt by running my own business but needed something that worked without a massive cash outlay. I found The idea of helping people that were moving by proving reusable boxes intriguing and now I’m doing it. Lots of work but I am enjoying it!
I’ve been living here in Canada for over twenty years now. I originally came from Ukraine, moving here after I married my husband, who was born and raised in this country. Since settling here, I’ve built a life filled with both challenges and rewarding experiences. I’ve raised my daughter, watched her grow, and supported her through every stage of life. Over the years, I’ve held a variety of jobs that helped me learn and adapt, and I even took the leap to start a couple of businesses of my own. Canada has truly become home, and my journey here has shaped who I am today.
